Conference Registration

Registration is required for attendance of DSCC/MOVIC 2012. Furthermore, one author must pay full registration for each DSCC/MOVIC paper in order for the paper to appear in the conference proceedings. This full registration will allow you to upload your final papers to PaperCept, provided they comply with the paper formatting instructions including page limits (5 pages for short papers; 10 pages for long papers). You will not be allowed to exceed this page limit, and there will be no "extra page charges".

A single registration will allow you to attend both DSCC 2012 and MOVIC 2012: the two events will be treated as a single conference from the registration perspective. A single registration will also provide you with CD copies of the proceedings of both conferences. Registration will cover the costs of your attendance of the conference banquet, breakfast, and refreshments provided during conference coffee breaks. When registering, please let us know whether you prefer a vegetarian or non-vegetarian meal at the banquet. As shown in the table below, registration costs are lower if you are a member of either ASME or one of its official sister societies. Participants paying non-member full registration or non-member student registration will receive a complimentary ASME membership for one year. Registration costs are also lower if you register within the early/advance registration time window. The deadline for advance registration is September 17, 2012.

Registration does not cover the cost of extra proceedings CDs, extra banquet tickets, or extra tickets to the conference "boat cruise" (currently in planning). Should you decide to purchase these extra items (beyond what is provided to you through conference registration), the costs will be as follows:

  • For extra CDs: $15 during advance registration window; $20 afterwards
  • For extra banquet tickets: $60 during advance registration; $70 afterwards
  • For extra boat cruise tickets: $20 during advance registration; $25 afterwards
